Flower essences for the soul

“...Flower Essences are being recognized today as a unique, natural, holistic modality that can open us to choices more closely aligned with our inner spirit or soul.”

Hawthorn Berry Beneficial In Cardiac Study
A placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blind study found that the Hawthorn Berry was beneficial for the treatment of patients with New York Heart Association Stage II cardiac disease (symptoms with ordinary activity). Treatment duration was eight weeks and patients were tested for changes in blood pressure times heart rate after a standardized exercise loading on a bicycle ergometer. Any subjective improvement of complaints was also assessed by a questionnaire. Hawthorn Berry showed a statistically significant advantage over placebo in terms of changes in blood pressure times, heart rate and improvements in subjective symptoms. No adverse reactions occurred.

Don't Supplement With Fluoride!
Authorities in several countries, including the United States, have reduced the doses of fluoride recommended for various age groups, on the grounds that the doses previously recommended were associated with an excessive increase in the risk of fluorosis (mottling of the teeth due to excess fluoride exposure). Although the risks of fluoride supplementation are questionable, the risk of fluorosis is well documented. The author (of this article) recommends that fluoride supplements should no longer be recommended for caries prevention in children in areas with little fluoride in water but may be useful for persons with intractable caries risks.
